We just returned from our first cruise on the Amacerto, Romantic Danube tour. We added the three night pre-sail tour in Prague to begin the journey. It was great to have a few days to adjust to the new time schedule and to see this beautiful city! We added the transfers from the airport to the hotel which was easy and seamless. The hotel we stayed in, The Cosmopolitan, was lovely with all the comforts of home and enjoyed a delicious and plentiful breakfast buffet each morning. We enjoyed many of the tours available with the AMA group in Prague, and had plenty of time to go exploring on our own. The add on evening of the Folk Dinner with entertainers was really fun! We were afraid of it being too cheesy, but it tuned out to be a great evening!

The bus trip to the ship from Prague was a bit long, but broken up with a few stops. Once we arrived at the ship, the embarkation was easy and we were in our cabins with luggage in no time. They hosted a nice Octoberfest type event on the shore outside the ship which was fun with delicious local beer and music!

All of the ports had something to offer everyone. Our personal favorites were Passau and Bratislava. There were tour groups set up for all levels of abilities, with a faster pace, regular pace, and slower pace group. This area was seeing an unusual amount of high temperatures daily which took a bit of a toll on our energy levels, but the beautiful towns and interesting tours kept us going.

Cabin Review

Stateroom with French balcony and outside balcony

Cabin AA

As first time cruisers, we were a little anxious about the size of the cabin. As we found however, the cabins are thoughtfully laid out with plenty of space for unpacking. There is a nice roll out bin under one half of the bed for items you may only need once or not at all. We stashed extra blankets from the shelving cabinet/closets, etc... in that. Our luggage fit nicely under the opposite side of the bed, so it was completely tucked out of the way.

The bathroom layout was good as well, with plenty of space under the sink for toiletry and hairdryer storage. The shower was great with both a rain head above, and wand on the wall.

The balcony was large enough for us to sit on and enjoy the view. The best use was for the evening light tour in Budapest. It was storming and lightning that night, but sitting on the balcony provided us wonderful views and shelter from the rain. Generally we sat up on the top deck to better see both sides of the ship while cruising.

Overall, I would highly recommend this room for space and comfort!

Port Reviews

Bratislava

Loved this smaller port! We enjoyed the quick walking tour, and then headed out to explore on our own. We took the night off from the ships dining room, and enjoyed a beautiful meal under the trees in the city center, taking in the sights and sounds of the town.
