We are previous river cruisers on a different line and relatives did this particular itinerary on Viking. Traveling with my husband and our two 20-something children, we had the trip of a lifetime. Highly recommend the Danube Waltz cruise. Starting in Passau and ending in Budapest is the way to go. Staff could NOT be more top notch and completely attentive to every need. They got to know us and we felt so welcome and cared for. If you go you must have dinner on the Aquavit Terrace, we were about the only people who did and I cant imagine why! The food was excellent and you could get the same meal as the main dining room, but the VIEW was so much better! We ate there every night. Pavel our server was unsurpassed. Food was tremendous and shore excursions truly enlightening. Arriving into Budapest at night with the Parliament building stunningly lit was an experience I will never forget.
