2017 July 4th Week Paris-Normandy-Paris was a wonderful cruise, our third. Previously, we did the Danube Waltz in 2015, Passau Germany to Budapest, and the Rhine River cruise in 2016 from Amsterdam to Basel, Switzerland. Biggest things that come to mind are (1) $ Value in terms of what you get and enjoy for what you pay, (2) History in terms of seeing first hand what you've read about, and (3) Quality Excellent Attention on-board Viking Cruise ships, 150 passengers or so with 40-50 crew, all getting to know each other and enjoy a week together.
My wife and I were not "cruise people," in terms of ocean-going cruises. Joining 3,000 to 5,000 people on an ocean-going ship with an emphasis on eating, drinking and sunning just never appealed. We're destination travellers, enjoying where we're going, and the community around us. On the 2nd day of our first Viking Cruise in 2015, my wife and I each were saying to the other, "You know, Honey, we need to build this cruise into our vacation plans for the next several years!" And we have.
We're looking forward now to our next two cruises. We want to do a Russian cruise, as well as an Eastern Europe cruise.
Nice cabin, got what you paid for, could have been a wee-bit larger, particularly in the bathroom.
