Our Journey from Amsterdam to Basel on the beautiful Rhein was a once in a lifetime experience. The accommodating crew were always there to make our every wish a reality. From the waiters to the bartenders to the ladies that freshened up our stateroom #341. The Bier Dinner in Koln was memorable where the bier was always fresh and cold as was the activities in Rudesheim am Rhein where I purchased a bottle of Asbach Uralt better to my taste then the stuff bottled in France!. The Christkindel Markt in all the cities were outstanding and took us back to our youth when Christmas was celebrated in Texas cities. Heidelberg had an especially beautifully decorated city center. The visits to the French countryside and Strasbourg were also very pleasant. The wine tasting and tour of the French vineyard was a highlight in France. The highlight for us Texan country people however was the Schwarzwald. Beautiful is the only term that applies and its not adequate! Viking is fantastic and we will take another trip with them in the future.
