Itinerary is fabulous, food & entertainment - mediocre at best.

Review for the Baltic Sea Cruise on Vision of the Seas

Other than the fabulous itinerary, everything about this ship is really mediocre. I had not sailed on RCCL in over 15 years and things have changed dramatically - and not for the better.

Let's start with the Main Dining Room. The food is equal to lower level reception dinner. Service was good, but I found it disgusting that the scrapping of plates and the throwing of cutlery into the dishwasher basket, was taking place behind our heads. The servers had to stack the plates, and really they just chuck them together. I can't believe more things did not break. The amount of noise coming from this is crazy! You had to talk above the din, which was annoying. Food that missed the bin sat on the floor for a while before someone kicked it out of the way. YUCK!

Servers were good, but it wasn't until night 5 that we were actually asked if we wanted something to drink with our dinner (other than water). Our section had a couple of really large tables, so we were not attended to. The Head Server, finally came to our table on night 8, to introduce himself!! He commented that we hadn't been at our table, and I told him we had been there almost every night, except the 2 where we went to specialty dining. He cackled loudly and walked away. He should have been assisting our servers with the more demanding tables, but he didn't do a thing.

Stateroom was clean and a nice size. the balcony was huge! However, be aware that at higher speeds, we were actually shaken awake! Not vibrations.... I mean a shake that made you feel like you were in an earthquake! The first two nights it was horrifying and I was actually worried that we would never have a decent night's sleep. Fortunately, we slowed down and it became less of an issue.

I don't know if there is a problem, but hopefully they will address it in dry dock!
