We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. We had hoped to see the Rhine-Meine Canal as we transited it but due to the low water we were unable to transit that section. The ship change was handled very smoothly by the staff and crew. We attended at least one excursion at each port so we had a good overview of the entire area, the excursions were well run. Occasionally we got a guide that was a bit hard to understand but for the most part that wasn't a problem. The process of getting people off the ship and to the designated locations for their excursions was handled in a very smooth fashion. The seemingly impromptu evening cruise of the lights of Budapest the last evening was one of the highlights! We truly enjoyed the time cruising through the scenic countryside and would have enjoyed a little more of that. Our cabin was spacious, comfortable and well appointed and the Service was impeccable. We enjoyed the flexibility of open seating and the opportunity to get to know many of the other passengers by sharing a table with different people throughout much of the cruise. It was a fabulous experience and we will definitely take another Viking Cruise.
The cabin was spacious and well attended. It was comfortable and we were happy to have the extra space afforded us by having a suite.
