My husband and I had traveled to 49 states and only had Hawaii left, so were looking for the best way for us to experience this island state. NCL itinerary was the perfect solution for us and ended up being a great choice.

We have been on several cruises so basically knew what to expect. We used POA basically as a floating hotel. We were off the ship whenever it was docked so ate a lot of our meals while out and about. The staff on POA were all helpful and friendly. Cabin and ship were fine. We didn't participate in any of the entertainment, specialty restaurants or spa.

We rented cars on each island. We also used an app created by SHAKA Guide. We had downloaded on our phone the following tours: Oahu North Shore, Road to Hana, Haleakala, Volcanoes National Park, Waimea Canyon. In Kauai we also went tubing through a sugar plantation and took a helicopter ride into the canyon. We were very busy but wanted to take advantage of everything we could. We also went to the Polynesian Cultural Center for the entire day plus stayed for the luau and nightly show. That was great.
