We chose this cruise for the itinerary, northern Atlantic including Iceland and the Shetland Islands. The good part of the trip was the staff, very friendly and courteous. The business model is discouraging with continuous pestering to get a little more money from the passengers. One example is adding dining choices with extra costs, wine tasting, and selling bottles of water to go ashore. The ship is smelly and badly needs up-grading. The food in the dining rooms is Denny's quality, although quite plentiful. The over-all experience is dampened by the lowering of standards on Princess, including the food, the linens in the rooms, and the worn conditions of the ship. The casino experience was positive, and the staff was excellent.

Port tours were frustrating due to the staff herding everyone into crowded areas and making all wait together for the staff to progress with the individual tours. This is just not necessary, and should be better organized. There are many gathering areas on the ship and the staff has two-way communication that could much better utilized to handle the guests.

I have 46 cruises with Princess and almost 600 days. I am just about finished due to the efforts by staff to make it easier form staff rather than the passengers, and due to the discouraging changes in the cruise line.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Linens are Motel 6, carpet is worn and spotted, commode is stained, and the balcony is worn with old furniture. The cabin steward was average, but attentive and friendly.
