We departed from Miami on August 26 on Carnival Glory. Embarkation was a breeze as a Platinum member :-). Had great things to do every day and night and the ports were wonderful except for Belize. If you do not purchase an excursion, don't bother getting off the ship. The ship was FULL of DISRESPECTFUL children. We spent as much time away from them as possible. I have no idea where these parents were but they weren't minding their children. In spite of that drama, we had a great time. The food was good but I found most of the beverage stations closed up in the evening. I guess they were trying to keep the mess to a minimum. I don't blame them. Why is it when people go on vacation they turn into inconsiderate slobs? Forget about saying please and thank you! I'm thinking for a different class of people, we may to try a different cruise line or maybe it's just luck of the draw.
Port is nothing but shacks selling junk. If you do not purchase an excursion, don't get off the ship.
We took a taxi with four other people to the far end of seven mile beach and walked along the shore back to town. It was absolutely beautiful. We stopped periodically to swim and rest. The locals we encountered were friendly and very nice! If I lived on an island where there was NO TAX, i would be friendly too!
We flew into FLL the day before and took the train into MIA. Super convenient! We then took an Uber to the blue lagoon hotel. What they didn't say was there was a shuttle from the airport we could've taken! We took a walk for lunch to El Palacio de los Jugos. All I can say is YUM!
