Braemar is a very happy, friendly ship. Being smaller, it's much easier and quicker getting on and off the ship - didn't have to queue once for anything during the whole cruise. Embarkation and disembarkation was slick and very quick with plenty of helpful crew members around to help. Our luggage was outside our cabin when we got on board and the whole experience was trouble free and relaxing.

We are seasoned cruisers but this was our first time with Fred Olsen and first time on a smaller ship. Fantastic! We wish we had discovered Fred Olsen before; there are no hidden extras and they are not trying to fleece us at every turn like some cruise lines do.

The food is excellent and far better quality than most of the cruise lines sailing from UK. Everything seems to be 'upmarket' in an understated way; even the self-service 'Palms Cafe' has linen napkins and tablecloths. Drinks are reasonably priced in ALL of the bars and the tours are not as expensive as we expected. No gimmicks or 'tackyness'. Cabins are very comfortable and SPOTLESSLY clean. Entertainment was very good. Don't think we will be cruising with anyone else from now on.

Cabin Review

Twin Inside

Being an older ship, the cabin was not quite as well designed as the big new ships but it had character. The beds were very comfortable and the cabin was SPOTLESSLY clean.
