As a present for a special birthday, we chose Fred and the Fjords. We always read reviews before booking and after eliminating the best and worst decided to sail with the Balmoral from Newcastle.

Embarkation went smoothly after leaving our luggage with the handlers, checking in to receive our pass cards and taking a short bus ride to the ship.

Our luggage arrived soon after we found our cabin and we made the mistake of unpacking immediately which meant we had to wait until after the emergency drill to get a drink.

Cabin Review

Superior Outside

Cabin B

We enjoyed the picture window and often left the curtains open at night to see any early morning fjord views.

Our cabin had been made up to a double bed as requested with access from both sides, there was plenty of storage space and loads of coat hangers.

The bathroom and shower are of an adequate size and always with plenty of hot water. There is a flat screen tv, kettle with tea & coffee and a safe.

Our cabin was clean and our stewardess was efficient and always able to clean our cabin at convenient times to us.
