My husband and I chose this cruise, because we wanted a fun and memorable honeymoon that wasn't ridiculously expensive. In my opinion, the Carnival Conquest was a great experience. Their employees are so sweet and personable. We had a great experience every single night in the Monet restaurant. Their servers were so professional and kind that I got attached and hated to say goodbye to them. The food was great, and to me, it's nice how everything was already taken care of for us in our early booking fee. You also have a lot of options to choose from. We did something different for lunch most days. Now, I will say, we didn't really use our drink passes to the max value. To me, you have to drink a lot of alcohol to do so. I'm not a drinker. I did enjoy my smoothies, milkshakes and sodas (since I'm normally a water only drinker), but next time, I think I'd just buy the drinks straight out and save the money.

On this cruise, we were forced to relax (which is so rare for us), because when you're in the middle of the ocean, naps and relaxation become perfectly acceptable. I slept like a baby in our room. I always felt safe and well taken care of on the ship itself. Our stop at Ocho Rios made me a little nervous, but again, that's not really a Carnival thing. However, I enjoyed our Grand Cayman day immensely.

Carnival treated us great as honeymooners and acknowledged us as newlyweds several times. I'm really glad we got a balcony room, and would encourage all future guests to consider the same. We actually wound up spending a lot of time in the room overall, so the view and the "light" was great. The rooms are cozy and sufficient. Our housekeeper did a great job and was super sweet as well. Every night, we had a towel animal or heart to look forward to when we came in after housekeeping. They also gave us fruit and wine and gave us a cute honeymoon desert at the restaurant. I love how well the people on this ship remember names! When you get off the ship, you feel like you're leaving your friends.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Fort Lauderdale felt like a whole different world to me, but I live in Middle TN, so naturally, it's going to. Fort Lauderdale itself treated us great and everything ran smoothly overall.

Ocho Rios

We probably should have taken an excursion (Dunn River Falls), but we didn't. We chose to explore the shops and spent the day at Margaritaville. It was nice to have WiFi and to feel somewhat safe at the Margaritaville beach, but we have Margaritaville in Nash, and the beach itself wasn't that spectacular to me. We had locals trying to push drugs on us, and we felt that people were very pushy in general. They put things in your hands and ask you for a donation, whether or not you've expressed interest in buying it. We didn't feel comfortable getting into a van with anyone, and when we hit the wrong part of Ocho Rios, we immediately knew it. I felt a little nervous and on edge the whole time though.....like someone was ready to fool us or take us. I wouldn't take back going here, as I've always wanted to go to Jamaica, and I think maybe we were just on the wrong side of the island (I've heard the resort is GREAT), but I probably don't need to ever go back. Once is good.
