We choose this cruise because we wanted a reason to go to Venice and also because it went to Croatia , Greece and Montenegro-- countries we have never been to. Venice is one of the most unique cities in the world and the cruise port is situated just on the outskirts of the island with easy access to the island hot spots. Our captain said the cruise in and out of the Venice is one of his favorites in the world and we agreed that it was very beautiful and a great experience. We enjoy the many food options on NCL and think the food is very good. We highly recommend Le Bistro, Cagney's, Moderno and the main dining room. We did not enjoy the buffet areas. The Pub was very good also . We were very surprised with the evening shows and thought they were by far the best we have ever enjoyed. We were on the Star almost a decade ago and were concerned that it might not be in good condition now. We shouldn't have worried as it was in great shape . We enjoyed the Greece and Kotor ports more than the Croatia ones. This ship has a great captain and cruise director. We were never bored.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

We enjoyed this cabin. We had a great steward and the cabin size was perfect for us. This is a starboard cabin and I think a port cabin would have been a little better than this cabin for viewing. The one issue is that every morning and some evenings we heard a lot of table and chair moving noises above us on floor 12 as we were under the outside grill seating area. We thought floor 10 would have been quieter.

Port Reviews

Venice

We stayed 2 nights pre and one night post the cruise. We did it independently and think it was a lot of fun. It is a little challenge to move your luggage around to your hotel but if you stay close to the port area you can take the people mover from port to bus station where you have myriad of transportation options. We stayed within walking distance at the Hotel Olimpia on the post cruise and found it the best option if you have a lot of luggage.

Kotor

Very pretty setting. The harbor is a fjord ringed by hills and beautiful beige and reddish roof homes. It is a great sail in and out. Great to have a balcony room to enjoy this port as well as the Venice sail in and out. Ship docks right next to Old Town with its beautiful walls. We walked around the city and up on the city walls. We enjoyed our time in this port.
