This was the first time on a Viking ship although we have taken several river cruises with Viking before. My wife and I wanted to try the Viking Sea because it was a small ship with less than 1,00 travelers and the itinerary looked interesting. It was surprising how beautiful the ship was. The cabin room were more than adequate and the house keeping staff did an amazing job in cleaning and preparing our room. The lounges were comfortable with gorgeous views when looking out towards the sea. Enjoyable were the daily afternoon teas with snacks. There were several eating areas one could choose from whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. Th daily menu had an excellent choice of delicious food. There were also two specialty restaurants, one Italian and the other Oriental, that one had to make a reservation. All meals included a choice of wines.

Heather Clancy did a remarkable job in keeping everyone advise as to what was going for the days activity and kept things organized so that there were no surprises. She also performed in a one person show that was most enjoyable and displayed her amazing talent as a singer and performer. She had a unique sense of humor and was truly a great and valuable asset to the ship's schedule and itinerary. The nightly entertainment by the other professional men and women was very entertaining. Of note was Alexis Semevolos singing "Time To Say Good-by" that was beautifully done and brought the house standing to their feet chanting for more. The cities we visited along the Adriatic Sea were interesting and were of historical significance. The most impressive cities were Santorini, Olympia and Athens (with 4 day extension which included a trip to Mycenae and Epidavros). The Greek and Roman civilizations which goes back to the 8th century BC still have a profound affect on our life today. This was a trip filled with interesting cities beautiful scenery sailing the Adriatic Sea and an abundance of ancient history.
