We booked this cruise when Celebrity decided to redeploy her from Europe some time last year. We loved the itinerary (except Key West) and also having 4 sea days to relax, so this seemed like a great cruise to take.
The couple weeks leading up to the cruise were a bit stressful to say the least! I was supposed to fly to Detroit 9 days before the cruise. It was pretty clear the morning I was leaving that Irma was going to mess up my plans. I was to fly home to Orlando early Saturday the 9th, even though they had decided to close the airport Saturday evening. Maybe 3 hours before I was to leave for the airport we agreed on a settlement and I luckily avoided getting stuck! The hurricane came as we know, and the power to our office was not restored until Thursday night. So I had to get my computer from the office and do as much work from home as I could. All that to say, we didn't even open up a suitcase until after dinner Thursday. All the while we had no idea what traffic would be like driving to Miami with evacuees returning south, and we were told the ship was leaving an hour early!
Well obviously we got packed and made it to the port around 10 or so. We were on the ship easily by 10:30. After relaxing for a bit, we made it to our stateroom. This was our first time not in Aqua or a Suite. The room was great, and we loved the location.
This is a great location and a wonderful cabin. The room and general area is very quiet. The balcony is slightly larger than normal.
Falmouth is a waste of a stop in my opinion. I gave it two stars if for no other reason than the shopping area is nice and clean (and safe). We walked around for a bit and came back on board for a massage. I wasn't excited about Key West but even less so about Falmouth.
