We had an itinerary for 5 ports of call - but ended up going to entirely different places due to Hurricane Maria. Our Capt Thomas kept us advised of where the storm was and the weather conditions twice per day so we were at ease. He took our ship away from the hurricane, for safety. We got to instead see St Croix, Aruba and Bonnaire.
The entire crew went out of their way to be sure that we enjoyed our cruise, even though the Category 5 hurricane was coming. We had the regular on board activities, and then even extra shows for us when we needed to extend the trip due to the disaster in Puerto Rico after it hit - so we ended up going to Fort Lauderdale coming home instead. Hospitality was super as the crew helped with phones/internet for changing plane reservations. Royal Caribbean said they would pick up any extra charges due to the change in itinerary - due to the huge disaster, and extended cruise. Folks were allowed to stay onboard extra days at no additional charge. We even were given a "goodie bag" when we departed for the airport -water, Oreos, chips and a goodbye wish for a safe trip home.
We had a very enjoyable trip - complete with the excellent dining experiences that we have come to expect with Royal Caribbean (and I have special dietary concerns that they met), good excursions to choose, excellent and friendly service by staff. We were very pleased to know that the ship has turned into a relief ship - bringing supplies to Puerto Rico this week, and bringing folks back to FLA. Excellent time - one of the best cruises we have had to date, and this is our 9th cruise (1 per yr). Well done, Royal Caribbean. It's a good company to sail with!
Cabin was standard with all your needs- we missed having a window, which we usually do upgrade to have. Thought we would try the interior this time and found that we really like looking outside from our room.
