In 2015 we cruised with Emerald for the first time, from Budapest to Amsterdam. We enjoyed the cruise very much and were very comfortable on board, despite the foul language of some of the Australians. Our only disappointment was missing the night cruise from Budapest due to the water levels.

This year we chose to travel east from Budapest to Bucharest, hoping to see Budapest all lit up at night.

My husband rang Emerald before we left home to check that there were no last minute hitches with water levels etc, to be told that we were not going on the Sky, but the Emerald Sun. We received no information from the company about this, and when my husband asked for a confirmation email, this did not arrive either. Communication from the company seemed to be an issue here.

Cabin Review

Cabin emerald balcony suite

Cabin was clean and tidy, was big enough, loved being able to drop the large window down. Appreciated the provided water, both still and sparkling, and the provided toiletries.

Cabin steward, Berry, who was always friendly, made a terrific job of looking after our cabin, giving us pleasure with his skilful use of towels! Bed was large and very comfortable, bedding always looked clean and fresh.

Plenty of space for clothes in the wardrobe and in the deep drawers. Great that we had a

safe.

Being at the back of the ship we wondered if we would hear engine noise, but it was as quiet there as anywhere else on the ship. We were never disturbed by any noise from the ship.
