This is our fifth cruise with Celebrity. Our first cruise was on the Solstice in the Fall of '10. We had not been on a Solstice level ship since that time having cruised on the Summit two times and the Constellation last year. We were excited to get back on the bigger ships in preparation for a TA hopefully in '19. The Reflection is beautiful and a big improvement over the M-class ships. Public areas and the atrium were absolutely stunning.
The passengers were mainly in their 60s and 70s, drawing mainly from the British Isles, Australia and Canada. I felt Americans were in the minority (less than 30%).
First the bad. One of the things that we enjoyed on the Solstice was the Lawn Club and that was the one negative on the Reflection. For starters, the for-rent cabanas effectively prevent anyone from using the grassy area by the Lawn Club Grill. These cabanas were never used from what I could tell. In addition, using the lawn area, Mast and Sunset Bar as smoking areas effectively ruined any enjoyment of the outdoor bar areas for me. (And I'm not a crazy non-smoking person) Having a cocktail outside is one of our favorite things to do on a cruise and we literally could not do it on the Reflection. I really wonder if a total non-smoking cruise ship might make sense.
Excellent cabin. Very spacious. Lovely beige/gray color scheme. Large veranda.
Walked to the top. Most shops closed as we were there on a Sunday morning.
Our favorite port. Clean with interesting architecture.Went to the Picasso Museum.
A beautiful city. I wish we would have taken a tour. Lots of history there with a Roman colosseum, Roman amphitheater and Moorish fortress.
