Fortunately for us our inclusive pre-cruise hotel in Reykjavik was in a great location in the old town, however talking to many of our fellow passengers it appears we were very lucky and most were in hotels some distance from the city centre.

Taking advantage of our pre-cruise time we took a privately arranged Golden Circle Tour, which despite the so-so weather was an amazing day out giving a great introduction to the history and geology of Iceland.

Embarkation was by far the worse we have ever experienced with a huge queue outside on the dock before check-in. Fortunately the weather was ok as that wait would have been horrible in the rain. However, once onboard with a glass of champagne and efficient check-in, the wait was quickly forgotten.

Hi CheshireLady2014. We are happy to hear that you found your second cruise aboard Seven Seas Explorer to be even more enjoyable than the first. We appreciate your feedback and trust that...

Concierge Suite

Concierge suites are of a very good size with masses of hanging, cupboard and drawer storage so even if you are doing a long duration cruise you really wouldn’t have to worry about space restrictions. Unlike many of the other suite layouts on the Explorer and other ships, the bed faces the window/balcony which allows for good views directly from the bed and gives more useable floor area. Another easy chair in addition to the sofa would be useful but you can always use the chair at the dressing table. Compared to other cruise lines we’ve been on sound transference between suites and the corridor has been totally eliminated making for a very peaceful nights sleep.

Great walk along the river but our guide was a little slow for the group
