We had never been on a river cruise before, and we had never been to Germany, Austria, or the Czech Republic. This cruise was the answer! All the Viking shore excursions were excellent, but the most important thing became the 6 friends we came to know on the cruise. They made every meal a delight and every tour so much more fun. Our greatest disappointment was that we only had one day in Vienna. One needs at least two days in such an amazing European capital. Viking should work on this and make sure to include at least two full days in Vienna - perhaps, three!

The funniest entertainer was one of the ship’s employees. He was German and he was a great comedian. I know - it sounds like a contradiction in terms. The “singer” was so-so, but the pianist was outstanding. The after dinner entertainment could have been improved a bit, but, honestly, we were so tired, bed sounded good!
