We wanted to try a river cruise through Central Europe , and Viking has a great reputation. Though the embarkation was not easy - we arrived in Budapest two days early on our own - we walked to the assigned dock not knowing our ship had been relocated for the World Cup FICA competition being held there starting that week.

The ship is beautiful. It is comfortable, well appointed, easy to get around, and our cabin was very well designed and surprisingly spacious. The food is very good, though not of the same variety as an ocean cruise. The included excursions were all top notch; the guides, transport, itineraries, and durations were all great. Entertainment, while limited, was very good, and always engaging with the guests.

The land portion of our cruise, to Salzburg and Munich, was very well organized and as enjoyable as the rest of the cruise, with 5-star hotels in both cities. We were given plenty of time to ourselves to see the sights outside of organized tours, as well.
