We love Norwegian. They treat us like family. We hadn't been on the Jade yet, and I was intrigued with the itinerary. This was our first overseas trip. Everything went smoothly. Boarding the ship was very quick and smooth. What we like about Norwegian is the free-style dining. We only ate in the Main Dining Room one time. The rest of the time was in the Buffet, plus a couple of times in O'Sheehan's.

Back to the voyage. There was a historian on board. The day before each port she gave an hour-long talk on the history and culture of that place. I loved that. We took an excursion at Lerwick, Shetland, and another one in Reykjavik, Iceland. Such an educational experience at both places.

Next was St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Again, alot of history!

Mid-Ship Inside

Cabin IE

We always chose an Inside Cabin. Yes, it's small, but we're only there to sleep! We find it perfectly adequate for us! Housekeeping is always wonderful. No complaints from us. The money we save (by booking an inside cagin) is used for our shore excursions.

Port Reviews

Lerwick (Shetland Islands)

Jarlshof and Scenic Mainland Drive: Nice, peaceful, relaxing ride through the town of Lerwick, along a little bit of the coast. We made a short stop at a little village where the Shetland Wool Week celebration was happening! Visited some knitting shops and a little visitor center. The highlight of the excursion was to the Archaeological site of Jarlshof on the tip of the coast. My description wouldn't do it justice---you need to read about it. Our tour guide, Willis, was wonderful. The view of the coast and the ocean was awesome! There is a little museum and gift shop.........Another scenic ride back to Lerwick. Before we boarded the ship, there was plenty of time to browse the waterfront, grab a bite to eat, and go shopping. I bought yarn!
