This was our second Viking cruise and it was every bit as enjoyable as our first! Our first cruise was on the Danube in December, visiting Christmas markets along the way. This time we wanted to enjoy the outside decks in warmer weather.
Embarkation was like coming home! We were familiar with the layout and rhythms of the ship and the staff make us feel welcome and comfortable. I asked about a particular cocktail onboard and the bartender didn't have one particular ingredient. When I found it in town and gave it to her, she made sure to ask if I wanted my "special cocktail" when she saw me!
Meals on board offered plenty of variety and gave us plenty of opportunity to meet other guests. We were graced with beautiful weather which enabled us to enjoy the outside decks while sailing. The staff made the cruising time very enjoyable and were very attentive with beverages and treats. Going through the locks was a lot of fun, especially when the captain was on deck to talk about the procedure.
The cabins are well designed to incorporate plenty of storage in a limited space. Suitcases can be stored under the king-size bed, freeing up floor and closet space. There are plenty of lighting options from overhead lights to bedside reading lights. Love, love, love the 110/220 power options; no worries about transformers! The shower is a bit small, but the two-way doors maximize space. The heated floors in the bathroom are wonderful.
