The staff on board the ship were all extremely courteous and friendly. The ship was spotless and well organized. Every request was met with kindness and efficiency. The food selection was wonderful, with plenty of variety, and accommodated special dietary needs. Our stateroom contained a fridge which met medication needs. Each request at every meal was fulfilled quickly and easily. Our cruise director was very informative and personable. Our waiter in particular was amazing - friendly and catered to us personally. We particularly were grateful for the quiet lounge at the rear of the ship where tea, coffee, fresh juice, cookies and pastry were always available twenty-four-seven. Embarkation and disembarkation were always easy and quickly managed. Tours were well organized and hosted by very knowledgeable tour guides and clean, efficient motor coaches. While we did not travel with children, there were a handful aboard and activities available for them. We would highly recommend Avalon Waterways to anyone looking for a taste of Europe.
