We chose this cruise because of a discounted cabin rate and free air fare. We had looked a number of cruises and this one seemed to fit our needs.

It did. We were very happy with all aspects of the cruise but the weather. Avalon could not be held responsible for that one. Room was on the small side, if someone was sitting on the chair at the desk no one could get by unless they climbed over the bed. The bed was quite comfortable and the ship was quiet. Our friends who had a cabin that was on the lowest level said they heard a lot of noises. So if you are a light sleeper upgrading could make a big difference in how you enjoy the trip. We enjoyed having a room that you could open to the sights, sounds and smells.

The food was fantastic. One did not want to miss a meal. The wait staff was extremely friendly and only had some communication problems with a couple of them whose English was not the best. Read more
