There is nothing the Avalon Felicity Crew would not do to make your trip the best ever. My husband and I, in our mid 50's, traveled with our three grown children and their spouses. Yes, we felt young for this type of cruise, especially the children but, they were forewarned that they would be the youngest. This trip was the best decision ever! Our youth worked to our advantage, as we were able to explore way beyond what the rest of the passengers experienced. It is a shame that these cruises have the reputation for being for the 50-70-year-old crowd.

The excursions were professionally run and the guides were very knowledgeable. The pace of the tours were perfectly orchestrated. Every day was an adventure with cable cars, trains, canal boats, and buses. My favorites were the day trip to Colmar France and taking the cable car up to the top of Rhudesheim and walking back down to the village through the vineyards. Also, start your trip in Basel Switzerland so you can take the gondola up to Mt. Pilatus!

OMG! The food - So many choices at each meal and everything is prepared to perfection. If you don't see a menu choice that you would enjoy, you can always get beef tenderloin, chicken or salmon any night. I'm a salmon fanatic so I order it on the final night - BEST EVER! In Germany, I wanted to experience my grandma's apfelkuchen (apple cake), a memory of my childhood. True story- I asked our cruise director if it was going to be served for dessert. He checked with the chef and it wasn't on the menu. The next night, at dessert time, our table was presented with an entire apfelkuchen from the lead chef. It was devoured in minutes - so good! That's the kind of service you can expect from the staff on the Felicity.

Deluxe Stateroom with French Balcony

Cabin B

Beautiful and comfortable cabins. We had the bigger window. It was a nice idea, however sometimes you are facing the shore and sometimes you are docked by another boat, so the drapes were closed often. If you can't upgrade your room, don't feel like you're missing out by choosing the lower level rooms with smaller windows.
