We chose this cruise to get a taste of the ports. We had never been to any of the countries of the port and wanted to see if these countries would be places we would want to go back and stay longer. If you want to see Paris a cruise is not the way to go. We took the ships transportation and the ship got into port by 7:00 but our bus did not leave until 9:15-9:30. Then the bus HAD to stop a 1/2 hour before we get into Pair (15 min is more like 30). We reached Paris in 3 hours and was originally told we would have 4 hours, which turned into 3 1/2. Then the bus was late to pick us up. No stop on the way back to ship. To rushed. if I did again I would find something to do closer to ship. Would be a good port for cruise ships to stay overnight. Day at sea because of cold weather not much activities on ship, so as long as you can entertain yourself it was fine. Cruising into Oslo was beautiful. We had 1 1/2 days there and it was a safe and clean place to go out on your own. We saw the Viking ship museum, the statue park (beautiful in the fall), ski jump and more. No rush Enjoyed port!

Next port Amsterdam. Then to Zeebrugge, We took a bus into Bruges and had a wonderful time. Very friendly people and beautiful. a must do is the canal boat ride.

Our cabin was toward the back of the ship which ewe seem to feel a lot of vibration. Out room was always clean, but we only saw our cabin steward 2 times in 9 days. Our friends cabin was on the same deck and but more mid ship and we saw and got to know there guy real well. Entertainment was good. Since we left out of UK we had more British on the cruise so the entertainment was more British too, which was no problem. We went to one of the quiz get together and all questions were for them.

Port Reviews

Cherbourg

We took ship transportation to Mont. St. Michelle. Long bus ride (2 1/2 hrs) but enough time to see everything.

Paris

Loved Paris! but trans portion through ship did not give us a lot of time to spend there. We left about 2 hours after shipped cleared and got back about 2 hours before we had to. we were suppose to have 4 hour but was cut down to 3 1/2 due to stop on the way there, which could have been avoided. I would not recommend going into Paris on a day stop, stay near port and enjoy the day.

Oslo

We walked the town on our own. If you want to beat the crowds go early. We hit the park with the Statues first and there were about 10-15 other people there, when we were leaving 2 buses got there. the same for the ski jump, we took public transportation and got there before the the buses. Beautiful pace to see especially in the fall. Would love to go back anytime of the year.

Amsterdam

Not sure what to say, this place was different. Very crowded and not real clean. It was an interesting place. some beautiful buildings mixed with new.

Brugge (Bruges)

Loved this place. Beautiful. Would love to go back.
