Fantastic trip. We had seen the ads on Public Broadcasting for years and always talked about doing one. 45th Wedding Anniversary made a great excuse. Viking handled everything smoothly and professionally. The crew went out of their way to make us feel at home. Having the Captain being a former submariner (I'm a retired submarine CO) was special and his eagerness to show me his ship was great.

The tours were great. Having a local actually lead the excursions gives you a much more in-depth understanding of the city and people. The tour of Strasbourg was a particular highlight specifically because the guide, a young college student, was so knowledgeable and entertaining.

The cabin was very comfortable and the veranda stateroom was perfect for relaxing while watching the river roll by. The meals were excellent and a great way to make new friends. Read more
