We always wanted to do the Panama Canal cruise and we have previously sailed on Princess so when this cruise came up at the right time and price, we jumped on it. We were disappointed with the condition of the ship and the size of the shower in our balcony cabin. The beds were a little saggy in the middle. A peculiar thing happened during the first week of the cruise, the food in the dining room underwhelmed us both in quality and portion size, for example, a shrimp appetizer consisted of 3 tiny shrimp lost in the plate, a serving of asparagus was 3 skinny little stalks, the Caesar salad, had maybe 3 lettuce, leaves. It occurred to us they were trying to save money on food at all costs. Magically, the second week of the cruise the food suddenly changed, portions were bigger, shrimp were a nice size and overall quality improved. The food at the specialty restaurants was excellent and plentiful. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We did notice more of a push to sell additional items in a few different areas. Ports of call were good, although inso,e ports time was very short, I.e. Cartagena.

Cabin BA

Needs sprucing up. Boring decor, saggy beds. Tiny shower.

Port Reviews

Huatulco

Excellent private tour of beaches and lunch by a river, used Enrique Pinacho tours.

We took a private tour which was excellent from Macua Tours.

Cartagena (Spain)

Too short a stop but made the most of it with a tour with Dora the Explorer.
