We had heard wonderful things about Viking and after several ocean cruises with other shipping lines decided it was time to try a river cruise. The ports and shore excursions looked wonderful, and they were. I can't say enough about the service and crew, they were terrific and made our trip extremely enjoyable. The only negative is you really aren't able to use your Veranda when in port because of the way Viking and other boats dock. I mentioned this problem to Viking upon our return and was given a credit.

The cabin was functional and kept very clean. The rooms are a little smaller than on an ocean cruise but we were kept so busy we were rarely in our room. There is a great deal of storage space. The bathroom was fine.

We enjoyed all the meals on board and took advantage of eating dinner several times up top of the Aquavit Lounge, the food was delicious and the view incredible. Amazing sunsets and had the lounge almost entirely to ourselves.
