My second cruise with silversea. I found the silver shadow far more engaging. My first day onboard was a put off in that I didn't find it either welcoming or friendly. As it's only a 4 day stint I have a gut feeling that many of the staff took the foot of the peddle. Other than the cabin staff and waiter in the section of The main restaurant I ate in every day the word that best describes most I encountered was disinterested.
The experience on silver shadow prompted this short journey as it was absolutely fantastic. I had no hesitation booking 2 further cruises with them next year, however if not for the fact that I am committed to flights for both journeys I would think again. The inconsistency in service levels between both ships indicated that some of the service personnel on this vessel choose to take a little downtime.
Cabin and food excellent, linens bathroom superb. Glad it is undergoing a makeover public areas are a bit tired
