Always heard great things about river cruising and after many ocean cruises we decided to experience it for ourselves. We chose Viking because it offered the Grand European itinerary and we enjoy Europe's cultural diversity and scenery. The Viking Lif experience was absolutely much more than we could've imagined. The longship is beautiful and tastefully decorated and equipped. I loved the big French balcony views and the heated bathroom/ shower floors. The included tours were very well done by local guides and best of all were the audio vox which enabled everyone in the group to hear clearly without having to be w/in arms' length of each other. We could take our individual time to explore the things being spoken about and still find our guide who had continued.

The food was very good and fresh including herbs grown and picked from the top deck garden. We were able to take in the beautiful scenery sitting comfortably on the open top deck and hear the points of interest over the loud speaker.

Our cruise director, Leonard, was superb... personable and informative. As a matter of fact, all of the Lif crew/ staff was very friendly and helpful. Read more
