We left out of Miami and chose to park in the port parking garage for simplicity ($20 per day, going up to $22 soon) since it is across the street from the ship. Embarkation was somewhat slow compared to other cruises. The ship was nice (2 pools, 4 hot tubs, bb court, golf driving range), but not outstanding. Sometimes it was confusing since you had to go up or down a level to get somewhere. We had an inside cabin (typical). There were two main dining rooms (one more casual than the other) with the same menus. Food was good, just not outstanding. We felt the ship was lacking activities compared to other cruises we have been on, seemed like only one thing was happening at a time and if that didn't interest you there was nothing else. The evening entertainment was always good. As usual for Norwegian, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We chose this particular cruise since it went to the Panama Canal. The ship goes through a couple of locks to Lake Gatun, unloads people for excursions, turns around and goes back out the locks, and then meets the excursion people in Colon (port area in Colon is a waste of time). Our excursion dropped us at the port at 3pm. The ship didn't get into port until 6:30pm. Extreme waste of 3 1/2 hours waiting for the ship. That said, we would still recommend the cruise.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Inside

Cabin IA

Inside cabin was close enough to elevators/stairs to be convenient. We were on deck 10 so it was only 2 floors up to the pool/buffet area. Be aware that Norwegian advertises these "free drinks-excursions-wifi-specialty restaurants," but really don't tell you that they are not included with the least expensive cabins--read the fine print. We don't mind inside cabins since we spend so little time there.

Port Reviews

Harvest Caye

We had never been here, relatively new construction. Reviews we read were somewhat negative. The pool area is beautiful. There were plenty of beach chairs both by the pool and by the water. There were probably 4-5 bars and a variety of shops (didn't shop so can't comment on stores) Zip lining looked cool but was expensive. If you want a beach day, it is a good place.
