We chose this cruise because it was affordable, the home port was within an hour of our house and we were celebrating a special event. The decor was pretty tacky but in good repair and everywhere we went on the ship was clean and well cared for. Our favorite part of the cruise was the serenity deck. Being early risers I was able to get a clamshell every morning and we could relax and read in solitude. The people who worked on the ship were all very nice and it was interesting to meet people from so many different places. The food in the main dining room was good overall but the appetizers were by far the best things on the menu. We only ate in the MDR in the evening, had Huevos Rancheros in the Blue Iguana most mornings and sandwiches from room service in the afternoon. Our 8;15 dinner time made seeing shows a little difficult but it was worth it to limit the crowds and children of early dining. Embarkation and debarkation ran very smoothly and it helped that we had purchased FTTF, it also helped that we were in a suite. Ronino, our cabin steward was really outstanding and we very much enjoyed the music group that played in the Red Frog Pub most evenings. The group, Texas Legacy was fantastic! They did amazing covers of hits from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. We also enjoyed the music group 2Country4Nashville, they were outstanding. Looking back I realize that it was overall very well done so I'm left not really sure why I have such a "meh" reaction to the cruise. I think we are really just not cruisers. I loved our port of calls, A bad experience in Cozumel had nothing to do with Cozumel itself, more to do with unpleasant American tourists, overeating and overdrinking and our private excursion in Progreso was fantastic. Having to be back on the boat by a certain time was limiting which is why I think I would prefer to just visit those places without cruising.

Like a nice Holiday Inn, balcony was to narrow to really enjoy but the view was fantastic and we could see up into the bridge which was very interesting when coming into port. LOTS of hangers which was nice and our cabin steward was outstanding.
