we wanted to try this new ship, which seemed very new and impressive.

First of all the embarkation was very long at Barcelona, especially with two small kids. First evening we had a safety drill, we were told to go to the Casino with our MSC cards, where we were checked in, shown a storeroom filled with life-jackets, and shown how to put it on, in about 6 languages. In case of a real emergency, I would not like to think what would happen.

Cabin was nice, with a small balcony, very little storage space, wouldn't be enough for a two week cruise. Cabin staff was extremely helpful and did his job really well.

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony

Nice cabin, not enough storage space, not possible to watch tv from bed.

Port Reviews

Marseille

Nice walk around the old port, there was an Xmas market. Take a taxi as soon as you can get out of the port where the ship is. It is a very long walk.

Genoa

went to see the Aquarium which was big enough for us with the grand-children. Interesting and our 18 month old, was over the moon.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Have been to Rome for several days before, so didn't leave the ship, but Rome is well worth visiting, but about an hour and a half from the port, I think

Palermo (Sicily)

Very dirty and run down, didn't enjoy this at all, apart from a great fruit, fish and vegetable market that we found. Filthy streets, one rubbish collector pushing garbage around from one place to another. Not very into cathedrals etc, as at our age, we've seen a lot of places around the world.
