We had a nice cruise out of Galveston for New Year's Eve. The ship was full so the Windjammer restaurant during breakfast and lunch was always very busy and hard to find vacant spots to sit. The sea was bumpy the first night out of Galveston so I was not able to enjoy the New Year's Eve party, but the rest of my group enjoyed the balloon drop. The weather was not very good on this cruise - only in upper 60's and 70's, with overcast skies most of the time, windy, and some times even drizzling. Definitely not able to sit in your bathing suite by one of the pools without freezing. We did the Explor excursion in Cozumel (had to take a ferry over to the mainland - take plenty of sea sickness meds before you go - everyone was throwing up). Explor is about 10 zip lines with some other activities and a huge buffet meal. It was fun - but considering I've ziplined before, I don't know that I would do it again. We did the horseback riding on the beach in Roatan. Again, it was a typical 45 min guided ride on a horse around the beach then in the ocean around a little island off the beach. It was okay, but since it was overcast, cool, and rainy, didn't enjoy it was much as on a better day. They had a bar with food, but pretty pricy. The best day was in Costa Maya - it was about 80 degrees and sunshine (finally!). We did the Wellness Retreat and that was perfect - they walked us over to a cabana (right off the port - no bus, ferry, etc. necessary) where we partook in margaritas, mojitos and other concoctions for the morning and afternoon, along with fruit kabobs, shrimp salary, and a sad half-of a roast beef sandwich with about five French friend. We hung out for about four hours before doing about an hour of a Mayan "spa" ritual of incense cleansing, sweat lodge, clay mask and a very strange hammock massage. The location is next to the shops and bathrooms, so very convenient and a nice relaxing day. We were in a suite on the ship and our attendant, Alex, was fabulous, even considering we had three teenagers in the suite who were messy. Would recommend Sabor the Mexican restaurant - it was very delicious (especially wonderful guacamole) and worth the upcharge. The ice skating show was nice entertainment as was the Saturday Night Fever musical (brought back many memories of my teenage years listening to the Bee Bee's!) Overall, was a nice cruise but I don't know that I would want to do this itinerary again (have done it three times now!) The Liberty of the Seas is a great ship - didn't even have time to see and do everything - there was so much going on. The service was wonderful - but of course we are a Crown and Anchor member in a suite, so can't say everyone would receive the same service.

Loved the double balcony - a couple of our teenagers slept the entire night on the lounge chairs since the weather was so nice. The small refrigerator was for chilling wine only (55 degrees) not for any kind of food storage. We had five people in the suite, so when the sofa was opened and a rollaway brought it, it was pretty tight. But considering the three teenagers refused to put their clothes away and were living out of their suitcases, the extra space in the suite was much appreciated. Electrical outlets were limited, so between two teenage girls getting ready and charging various devices, we were always plugging, unplugging stuff. Would recommend bringing a steamer - you are not allowed to bring an iron nor do they provide one, but a steamer worked very well and is a great investment. Suite would be plenty of room for two or three people (two in the king size bed, one on the coach) and even four would be manageable. Five, as stated, is possible, but tight and things will get a little messy unless you are super careful about putting stuff away. There are three large closets and about 18 drawers if my memory serves of various sizes (not including bathroom drawers). Bathroom is large with double sink and nice deep tub, if you want to take a hot bath. Location of room was good, just around the corner from the elevators, and only one floor from the fitness center and spa. The food venues (Windjammer, suite lounge) are at the other end of the ship as is the theatre. The first night the ship was rocking and being closer to the front, it did rock a little more probably than if closer to the middle. Overall, was a nice cabin that worked for the five of us.
