A while since I have cruised with P&O (2013). Managed to get a decent price for a balcony and booked. Had a fantastic time. Britannia not my favourite P&O ship but was very nice, missed promenade deck and a decent pool at the back with overhanging seating but like to take each ship for what it gives. Staff fantastic. Disappointing that only 3 other guests turned up on our fixed dining table so only 5 out of 10 of us and then not every night, Fixed dining is something I particularly enjoy so this was disappointing but nobodies fault. Embarkation quick after a good flight. Cabin steward very accommodating and not intrusive at all. Food was good, did not eat in the buffet very often (too busy for us). Had room service breakfast every day on the balcony which was so relaxing and made us want to get up early every day. Went to the restaurant a couple of times at lunchtime, ate mostly in the dining room and once in the Beach House. Entertainment was the best I have had in my 7 cruises and has certainly improved, some excellent theatre shows and VIBZ were fantastic every night, (other group not our cup of tea at all). Still dislike the sailaways and kept well away from them (personal choice).

Ports were generally excellent especially the fact that we had 3 days in Barbados and also that the ship sailed late from Curacao, a definite plus, meant we could stay out later and it was fabulous. I will never understand why P&O take their cruise to St Vincent!! Did some P&O trips Jeep safari (brilliant), Grenada (good), Atlantic Hotel in Barbados (brilliant) and snorkelling in Barbados (ok only). They were good value for money.

Disappointed that there is a charge for room service other than breakfast as would have fancied using it on a couple of occasions. P&O still allowing alcohol on board which is a definite plus for using them as is the discount for past cruisers. At the captains cocktail party drinks were not restricted and very generous.

Cabin Review

Cabin D

Well placed cabin, balconies on Brittania are small but manageable.

Port Reviews

Curacao

Walked to the bridge and into town and then got a taxi to mambo beach where we stayed until 7 pm ish, lovely late embarkation was superb

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

Palm court gardens - excellent place although not as good this year as was full of ship staff and not as serene as usual

St. Lucia

Island tour independently excellent
