We chose this cruise as it was an opportunity to get away from the usual xmas new year routine.
Our daughter and son in law were celebrating their fourth anniversary and we decided to invite them.
we advised the company that we were celebrating this event .the immediate response was for them to rattle off all these overpriced packages.

caught local bus ($2.50 aud) to northern beach , fantastic swimming enjoyed our stay, went to local supermarket and made a french roll with pate , cheese and local wine very reasonable we picnicked in the park -superb.
Pay with your visa , always opt for local currency if prompted in our case , changed $50 aud to xpf at ATM for bus , markets etc
Lifou
went snorkelling local charge $15Aud per person, which I didn't mind provided it was toward preservation (I had my doubts)
We all thoroughly enjoyed the day

I was pleasantly surprised to see an honest presentation of the city .We encountered REAL people.
The locals were all lovely.
I'd expected this manicured sterile garden like island, the city felt more like mumbai
Lautoka
Lautoka was a small town with nothing to do ,Good place to stretch your legs, visit mcdonalds
If you are able to walk comfortably for 20 minutes don't pay for ship's ripoff $22aud return ticket shuttle bus.There is a local bus which passes the dock $2 aud . We decided to catch a bus to Nandi (20 minutes $2aud each
Nandi was a disaster- nothing , dirty , no character we caught the bus straight back
