Friends recommended Viking and we both wanted to cruise the Mekong. The trip was made infinitely more enjoyable due to the two tour directors - Kong and Lee - they were exceptional at every turn. Additionally, our local guides were also excellent - knowledgeable and very personable. A further part of the trip that made it enjoyable was the other passengers we made friends with - definitely a plus, although not within the control of Viking.

My wife had some concerns before the trip as to the food on board as well as during field trips. She was very pleasantly surprised with the excellent meals we had on board, as there were "Western Food" choices at every meal that satisfied her needs. The support staff on the boat were also excellent - friendly and efficient - knew our names after one day. A further highlight of the trip was the hotels we stayed in - absolutely mindblowing, particularly the Reverie in Saigon - possibly the most opulent hotel we have ever stayed in. Shore excursions were always on time, and beautifully organised... local guides very knowledgeable and each entertaining in their own way. Weather was spectacular - never rained during our on shore activity - weather was controlled by Kong! Based on this trip, we will definitely cruise with Viking again.

Cabin Review

Small but adequate - excellent shower for such a small cabin. Beautiful boat - loved the wood.
