We had previously taken the Viking cruise up the Seine from Paris to Normandy and back and enjoyed it so much we wanted to take another cruise. The Rhine is bigger and more picturesque and Germany was a fascinating place to see, as well as Strasbourg and Amsterdam. We were very pleased with this trip as well as the previous cruise. One thing about Viking that I thoroughly enjoy is their cleanliness. My wife is a bit skittish about hotels etc but no complaints about the accommodations on Viking. The staff is extremely attentive also. We did not enjoy the food on this cruise as much as the Paris to Normandy trip. There were many entres not to our liking nor to the likes of our travel mates. That is the one negative we would mention. Food on the first trip was extremely good. Our hope is to be able to take another Viking cruise, perhaps to southern France next time. We like the amount of guests . . . Just the right amount . . . And not the thousands p,us on the larger ocean cruises. You really feel like you get to know the other travelers with a smaller amount on board. Would,and have, recommend Viking to everyone. It is well worth the price.
