We wanted to visit Hawaii without a long flight over to the islands. This was a 15 day "Journeys" cruise out of Long Beach California. There were 4 sea days before the islands as well as 4 after. We enjoyed all the special activities that Carnival had planned for those sea days. There were dance lessons, including hula, island crafts classes, seminars, cooking demonstrations & too much more to list. We enjoyed each & every port stop too. This was such a wonderful relaxing way to visit the islands. This was our 1st cruise as platinum guests. We enjoyed the easy embarkation & other perks of being platinum. Crew members were efficient & friendly. A special tribute was made for the veterans by the cruise director which was well received by all veterans & their families. We cannot wait to repeat this cruise, we had a lovely time. Worth every penny.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8F

our stateroom was the standard balcony cabin. We heard no excess noise, everything was in working order. Cabin steward honored any requests we had with a pleasant & efficient attitude.

Port Reviews

Ensenada

We just walked through a few shops, some of which were a bit intimidating. We were there until evening, would rather have visited during the day.

Los Angeles

We had chosen "super shuttle" to take us from LAX to our hotel in Long Beach for the night before our cruise. There were 2 other passengers in the shuttle van. After dropping the other 2 passengers off at their hotel, I think our driver did not/ could not find our hotel. We drove several minutes to nearly an hour with a U turn in the middle of a busy street before he finally found our hotel. This was more irritating because he never tried to explain or apologize for the inconvenience, he just kept aimlessly driving around consulting his I pad with no communication to us. We stayed at the Hotel Current which was quite lovely once we finally got there. Hotel staff was friendly & helpful. Our room more than met our pre cruise needs. We met with other cruise critic roll call members in the lobby & had a get together dinner at the Crooked Duck which was just down the street. We had made reservations at the restaurant, but it was obvious they were unprepared for our group, Some people had good food, while others' food was undercooked & not well presented. Service was not great either.
