This was our first cruise ever and our first Disney cruise. I had heard a lot of good things about DCL and had high expectations. Our only disappointment was that the weather wasn't as warm as I would have hoped, but that's out of our control. We arrived at port and waited to get through security and customs and get our key to the world cards for the ship. That whole process took maybe 30-45 minutes. When we walked onto the ship, our name was announced and the crew at the entrance clapped and cheered us in. We quickly realized there was SO much to do and we would have to plan our activities wisely. The food choices were great, but felt like the same thing night after night. Steak, chicken or fish at every restaurant. Pirate night was awesome and after fireworks Cabana's buffet opened back up with different menu items (tacos, baked potatoes, crepes and lots of desserts) but did not seem well prepared for the amount of people that would all flood in at once.

We did an Atlantis Aquaventure excursion in Nassau. Our time was listed to start at 9:30 and I assumed we would be able to go straight to Atlantis at that time, but that was only when you were assigned to meet up on the ship with everyone else doing that excursion. I got really worried that we would not have much time at the water park by the time they got through having everyone sign a waiver and navigated us to the pick up spot at the port. It was 10:30 before we got to Atlantis, but thankfully it wasn't super crowded and the fact that we didn't have any lines for rides probably helped us to be able to still do everything we wanted to.

Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, was amazing! The water was a little cold but later in the afternoon was fine for snorkeling. There were several servers coming around throughout the day to take orders for bar drinks and bring them back to you.
