We chose this cruise because we had sailed on Oceania in the past and liked it and we liked the itinerary. This was the worst cruise we have ever been on. First of all the ships cabins need to be gutted. We were in a Penthouse suite and the carpet was stained and the sink cracked. My husband was sick for most of the trip because of the mold in the room. While 25 percent of the passengers had some virus he had mold poisoning. The food has gone down the drain - frozen and boring! While the itinerary was good we missed 4 important nature ports 3 because of “weather” and 1 do to mechanical difficulties on the ship. After coming home and doing research we learned that those ports should not be on the itinerary for this time of year because of the nature of weather in Australia OR the ship needs to be equipped with more up to date tenders. The weather wasn’t bad and the private tours we booked on land that involved being on the water in smaller boats then the tenders were surprised at the cancellation because of weather. In one port they had another ship come in and tendered the passengers ashore with no issue. We also had 2 ports on Christmas and New Years when every thing is closed so it felt like those ports were missed also. That was a abomination considering a little better planning could have avoided that .It was one issue after another and it looks like Oceania s cutting costs wherever they can. The worst part was the lack of professionalism from customer service. They basically did not acknowledge any of the issue and offered nothing.
