We have travelled on Regent several times and wanted to compare Silversea. The ship was beautiful and our suite was excellent as was our butler Pedro. The excursions were generally mediocre and greatly overpriced. The food was very good but service was mixed. It was marginal in the La Terrza and poor in LaDame but good elsewhere. Paying extra for LaDame -- good but not exceptional food --with poor service was a major disappointment. The lectures were very good but evening entertainment was disappointing. When we booked our cruise we were scheduled to stop in Uraguay but learned on the cruise that we were not stopping there and would simply have another day at sea. That was a substantial disappointment as the ports we stopped at were generally not very interesting and this would have been a highlight. The gluten free offerings were limited for my wife. Vicki the cruise director was very energetic, funny and a big plus on an otherwise rather boring trip.
