We selected this cruise because of the itinery and price. We wanted to try an asian cruise this time, and not that many options are available departing from Singapore. Royal Caribbean was much more expensive and had a less attractive itinery.

Costa Victoria is old. Built in 1996, and is by current standards a small ship. This would however not have to be only a disadvantage. A small ship can have its advantages. Unfortunatelly that was not the case with Costa Victoria. The decor of the ship is just uggly and would really need an upgrade. There's plenty of space on deck, but not enough deck chairs forcing people to simply place the towels on the fake "grass" floor, and the "solarium" in the forward of the ship needs at least a jacuzzi or something to relieve the main pool area.

We we're upgraded from an inside to an outside cabin which was a very nice surprise! The outside cabins which comes with only a porthole window. The cabin is very small and the orange colors are not pleasant. No seating are is available so oyu have to sit in the bed to view TV. The bathroom is fine though.

Port Reviews

Singapore

Singapore is an exciting city. Everything works smoothly and is clean. the subway MRT is excellent and cheap way to get around. Visited Sentosa for beach and beautiful Gardens by the Bay and the rooftop and Marina Sands Bay

Koh Samui

Hired a private taxe for the entire day for 3000 Baht. It was a good day with several interesting stops including the waterfall (swimmable) and a crowded silver beach

Bangkok (Laem Chabang)

The ship is docked in an industrial port. No way to get around without taking an excursion or using the few "taxi" drivers available outside. They have their private cars and is overcharging, but still cheaper than an excursion.

We decided Bangkok was not worth the 3h trip (one way), so first day we went to Pattaya. This took 1h and Pattaya is a really discusting place unless you want to pay for thai girls. We instead took the ferry to Koh Larn. This was better, but still very crowded on the "monkey beach" we went to and people (mostly russians) was rude.

Second day we instead took a short taxi ride (25 min) to the city of Siracha. From her the ferry to Koh Sichan. Turns out no tourists on this ferry and island was just perfectly beautiful with the big chinese temple and royal garden. Also the beach had crystal clear waters with some snorkeling and the restaurant was cheap. We hired a TukTuk for an entire Baht for just 250 Baht! go there!

Sihanoukville

Cambodja is not much developed. Roads are in terrible conditions and it is very dirty. There was a shuttle from the pier to some square. Here a number of TukTuk drivers offered there services. We started on $80 for a TukTuk the entire day but baargained down to $50. Still probably a high price for cambodia! We went to the waterfall which took about 45 minutes. The road was sometimes none existing and we had to get of and push the tuktuk out of the mud. also there was two "tolls" we're we had to pay some guy sitting in a hammok money for unclear reasons. Anyway the waterfall was soo beautiful it was woth all hazzle! Then we went to the beuatiful Otres beach and had a great lunch including beer for just $4. Finally the market which was an interesting experience
