Approaching Tristan da Cunha by tender
Saying goodbye to Tristan da Cunha

Our 3rd SB cruise and it just gets better and better! Embarkation was faultless and quick, lunch in the Colonnade awaited us and we sat and had a leisurely lunch then straight to our cabin for unpacking.

From then on, it was all just a fabulous time. After an independent tour in Rio, we had 5 straight sea days before we reached Tristan da Cunha. Being able to visit the remotest inhabited island in the world was just stupendous, the Captain worked so hard to get all those who wanted to land on the island and it was not easy! Very rough coniditions but the care of the staff and the determination of the crew made it happen, and I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity. Then we had the island inhabitants aboard the next day and we feel privileged to learn about their lives on this island. Then some cruising around Inaccessible and Nightingale Islands followed by 4 more sea days before we got to Namibia, then Cape Town.

We were lucky enough to meet so many lovely people on this cruise, it was a good mix of nationalities and we had such fun! The main dining room was as good as ever, we also went to the Patio, Colonnade and TK Grill but mostly the MDR sitting with a good mix of people on hosted and uhosted tables.

Rio de Janeiro

Tour by a local who took us everywhere (and not the normal tourist spots because we've been to Rio before)
