Good offer from Cruise1st enticed us to try this ship, the OVation of the Seas, again going to NZ.
RCL indicated we turn up at a nominated time so an orderly embarkment could occur - wrong. Arriving at the nominated time we were met with a line of people standing still. After 15 mins it moved to another line and then 2-3 other queues - we finally boarded 1.5hrs after arriving - no one should take any notice of thier scheduling. On this ship, queing is in fashion - expect to wait for nearly everything.
The Junior Spa Suite is the same as a handicapped balcony cabin on the Voyager of the Seas but priced more. The room is fine although the toilet paper is missing the sand otherwise it scratches just fine. There's no Sorbent or Kleenex available here.

The room is fine although the toilet paper is missing the sand otherwise it scratches just fine. There's no Sorbent or Kleenex available here. We had to ask for robes. The pillows must have been run over by a steam roller but the mattress was firm. Seating was uncomfortably hard and not for 2ppl
We hired a car and left Auckland to see what else there was around the city. We found the black sand beaches in the west
We hired a car and went to Hobbiton farm - very interesting and would be great for children.
We hired a car and visited Olveston house - worth the visit indeed. Then drove into the country to Middlemarch - a tiny bycle centric town with two great cafes.
