We’d cruised with Ponant previously and had an enjoyable cruise. This time – definitely NOT. This cruise was to Antarctica and we had both been looking forward to it. Antarctica is simply amazing - nothing can ever take away from that! I'd love to go again - but with a different cruise line.

The good things first –

o The expedition crew were simply amazing, excursions well organised and managed.

Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego)

Why does Ponant have guests fly out of Buenos Aires at such a ridiculous hour of the morning (flight departs around 6am & the airport is a ridiculously long way from the city) only to then have guests essentially "killing time" until boarding at 4pm? It was obvious this wasn't a chartered flight as we were led to believe. We went to the Arakur Hotel for lunch & that was very nice - lovely hotel with amazing views. But, seriously, the rest of the day was an absolute waste with the tour guide leaving us for ages to wander around Ushuaia (& some stores were closed anyway) before finally taking us to the ship!
