Sail Date: Feb 2018

We travelled from Adelaide to Perth on the Indian Pacific and the Astor left a day after we got to Perth so we thought that would be an interesting way to return.

The cruise started out badly discovering we had not got the cabin I requested but that was the travel agents fault.

The corridors are narrow but the restaurants were spacious enough.

Cabin Review

Cabin Baltic Deck

All the previous cruises we have been on have been in rooms with a balcony. We knew there were few cabins with balconies on this ship and asked our travel agent to get us a cabin with a double bed on the highest deck possible, Imagine how unhappy I was when we got a cabin on the bottom accommodation deck with two single beds! The beds were narrow and the mattress thin. It was also very noisy. I measured the noise at 68dB which is louder than normal conversation.

On the plus side it had a fridge that worked as a fridge (unlike our Royal Caribbean fridge) and the water pressure and temperature in the shower were good. Plenty of storage space as well, and the air-con worked quietly and efficiently.
