We wanted to see Budapest, Vienna and Prague. The service on the Egil was supreme. There was a lot of attention to details .All the staff starting with the cabin steward to the servers in the Dining room and the bartender were very professional and personable. The wine steward in the dining room was knowledgeable and helpful. The cruise director was the best we have ever had, he was entertaining, fun and very knowledgeable. We liked being able to get off the ship daily and loved the walking tours, most excursions and or guided tours. We would have liked more variety for entertainment in the evening. The only thing we did not like was the farewell dinner. We were not told that it would be late and a long drive to the venue. The entertainment was good but the room was too small and way too noisy. Anyone sitting at the back could neither see nor hear the entertainers. The food was not up to Viking standard and was served by surly waitresses. Getting back to the hotel at 11 PM was way too late for people having to catch an early flight in the morning so value for money = very poor.
Great layout, very spacious and comfortable. We loved the balcony.
